WOVEN ROVINGS Woven roving is a plain weave glassfibre fabric, which has a surface dressing rendering it suitable for use with polyester or epoxy resins. Woven ravings are often used in composite laminates with chopped strand mat, the latter being used to increase the bulk of the laminate. Rovings wet out far more quickly than certain types of mat, pick up a lower percentage of resin, approx. 50% glass, 50% resin, and have far higher physical properties. A roving laminate, thickness for thickness is much stronger than an all mat laminate, and a thinner, lighter and less expensive laminate can often be made. We stock woven ravings normally in 300g and 600grm/ m² but due to the variety of weights and widths, please contact us with your requirements.
